Time and time again I find myself easily persuaded. Afterward I wonder, “How did I get talked into this one?” Credit it to my flexibility, willingness to try, or naive trust in people’s motives. I always pay attention to advice given by a friend or an “expert.” Social judgment theory would say that I simply have a wide latitude of non-commitment. That’s because have low ego involvement most of the time. The situation is not a hill to die on, so why should I get my pride involved?
